Dome Head T316 Stainless Steel Cable End Fittings for 1/8″ Wire – Swage
These dome headed, stainless steel cable end fittings are great for anchoring 1/8″ cable to metal or aluminum posts. It only holds the cable and doesn’t do any of the tensioning so you will need to have a tensioner on the opposite end to tighten the cable. We had them made with type 316 stainless steel which makes them great for indoor and outdoor applications. You could live down by the ocean or up in the mountains and you won’t have to worry about rusting. On outdoor railings, it’s common for build-up to occur over time but a simple steel cleaner will get them looking like new again.
Since this is a swage fitting, you’ll need to have a steel cable crimping tool on hand during the install. After sliding cable into the dome head fitting, it is recommended to swage 3 times to permanently fasten the two together. A cable cutter tool will also be needed. Be sure you’re using a cutter that’s meant for cable or you could end up with flat ends and that makes putting them into fittings difficult. We always suggest double checking your measurements before cutting or swaging – these actions can’t be undone.
You’re also going to need 1/8″ cable with these stainless steel cable end fittings. There are a number of different cable configurations available but we always recommend 1×19 on wire railings.
