Heavy Duty Turnbuckle Tensioner with Deck Toggle for 1/8″ Cable – T316 Steel
When you’re putting up a cable railing system, you will need hardware that can pull the wire tight and keep it that way – this heavy duty turnbuckle can do just that. It’s designed with a deck toggle which makes doing angled runs a breeze. Made with type 316 steel which allows you to install them indoors & out. If you install them outdoors, over time build-up can occur but if you use a steel cleaner like CitriSurf 77 it’ll clean right up. After you slide cable into the tensioners head, a steel cable crimper will be needed to permanently fasten the two together.
If you have a long run or angled run to install, some decide to put a tensioner on both ends and it also helps make everything look more uniform as well. It has a toggle just like the tensioner for ease of installing angled runs. The toggle terminal doesn’t do any tensioning at all, it simply holds the cable in place as the tensioner on the other end does the tightening.
This tensioner is designed to be used with 1/8″ steel cable. We have found that the best wire rope cable to use on handrails is the 1×19 configuration. It isn’t rough to touch with your hands and gives off a nice even shine.
