Stemball Swage Cable Railing End Fittings for 1/8″ Wire Rope – T316 Steel

When installing a wire railing with wooden posts, these stemball cable railing end fittings work great. They were made with T316 steel so you don’t have to worry about them rusting over time. Because of their material, you can install them both indoors and out. If build-up occurs over time on outdoor systems, a stainless steel cleaner like CitriSurf 77 will clean it right up.

Their main purpose is to anchor cable on one end of runs – you’ll then need some type of tensioner on the opposite end. You’re welcome to mix and match our hardware as you please but we do have some common tensioners to pair with these anchors. We have a great 10″ Tensioner (https://sa-materials.com/p/10-inch-long-wire-cable-tensioner-used-with-1-8-inch-cable-type-316-stainless-steel/)  if you’re putting up a long run and want to make sure there is enough tensioning. Shorter to medium sized railings could be done with hardware like our Threaded Terminal (https://sa-materials.com/p/wire-rope-tensioner-fitting-for-1-8-inch-cable-type-316-stainless-steel/)  or our Turnbuckle w/Lag (https://sa-materials.com/p/tensioner-turnbuckle-hardware-with-lag-screw-for-1-8-inch-cable-t316-steel/)  option.

These swage cable railing end fittings require a special swaging tool in order to secure them on the wire. A cable cutter tool will also be needed as you go along.

Finally you will need 1/8″ steel cable but there are different configurations to choose from. We always recommend using 1×19 construction if you’re installing a handrail. We believe it’s the best looking option, plus it isn’t very rough to the touch.
