Swage Stud / Swage Stud – Adjustable Turnbuckle Tensioner for 1/8″ Cable – T316
Are you in need of an adjustable turnbuckle where cable is installed on both ends? S.A. has what you need. After you swage cable onto both ends, the middle then twists to pull the cable tight or loosen it. They are made with type 316 steel which won’t rust if installed in humid areas. Indoor and outdoor applications are both okay with this piece of hardware. On outdoor applications, if you see build-up over time a simple stainless steel cleaner will clean it right up.
As you prepare for installing a cable railing system, be sure you’ve got the right tools to get the job done correctly. Both ends will have to be swaged / crimped onto the cable you’re using. Having a swaging tool on the job site will be needed. In order to cut your wire as you go along, make sure you’ve got a cable cutter tool on hand as well. Don’t use a grinder or other tools that aren’t meant to cut cable, it can result in fattened ends that won’t slide into the fittings.
With this piece of hardware, 1×19 construction stainless cable with a 1/8″ diameter is recommended. We find the look and feel is ideal for wire railings.
